The Republic Bashkortostan arms represent the image of a monument to Salavat to Yulaev against a rising sun and its beams, entered in a circle framed with a national ornament. The kuraja inflorescence, a tape painted in colours of a flag state Republic Bashkortostan, with an inscription on a white field is more low represented: "Bashkortostan". In the colour image of the arms of Republic Bashkortostan a monument to Salavat to Yulaev and an ornament - golden, a kuraja flower - green, a rising sun - light-golden, sun beams - yellow, a background between a monument and an ornament - white, internal and external circles - is dark-golden colours ". Salavat Yulaev - the Bashkir national hero, the national poet singing of feats of the Bashkir athletes, the native nature, its creativity it is got by spirit of struggle against any oppression, it was transferred by word of mouth. However on the arms the concrete person is represented not. A monument to Salavat - the generalised image of the Dzhigit-soldier, the fighter for freedom and justice, it symbolises friendship and a unification of the people of Bashkortostan.

The Republic Bashkortostan flag represents a rectangular three-coloured panel with an emblem, consisting of horizontal equal strips on width: the top strip of dark blue colour, average - white colour, bottom - green colour. In the centre of a white strip golden colour represents an emblem - a circle in which there is the stylised flower of a kuraja consisting of 7 petals. A parity of width of a flag to its length - 2:3 (originally till 2003 - 1:2). The top, average and bottom strips make till 1/3 width of a flag, the circle settles down in the flag centre, and its diameter makes 1/8 lengths or 1/4 width of a flag. In the Republic Bashkortostan flag dark blue colour means clearness, virtue and cleanliness of thoughts of the people of republic, white - their peaceful disposition, an openness, readiness for cooperation; green - freedom, eternity of a life. A kuraja flower - a friendship symbol, 7 its petals which are settling down in the centre of a white strip, symbolise 7 sorts which have begun consolidation and a unification of the people of Bashkortostan in its territory. A circle framing a flower, - a sign on eternal movement. Dark blue and white colours of a flag coincide with colours of a flag of Russia. После вхождения Башкирии в состав Российского государства, составлением гербов, занимались центральная и местная администрации. В середине 17 века в приказе Казанского дворца была изготовлена печать Уфимской приказной избы с изображением на ней первого герба г. Уфы - бегущей куницы. В дальнейшем задача создания гербов городов Башкирии была возложена на Герольдмейстерскую контору ( Санкт - Петербург). Между 1724 - 1727 гг. товарищем герольдмейстера Ф. М. Санти и художниками Н. Чернавским и П. Гусятниковым были представлены 2 варианта проекта герба для Уфы: старый - с изображением куницы - и новый - "в золотом щите на красном поле белая лошадь, бегущая по зеленой земле". Проекты были утверждены в 1730 году. В результате Уфа получила два одновременно функционирующих герба. Для знамени Уфимского гарнизонного полка был выбран новый герб с изображением бегущей лошади. Уфимская провинциальная канцелярия продолжала пользоваться печатью с изображением куницы.
